Comma costs cable company $1million CDN, part II

Do you remember the urban legend that French is a better language for business because it is less ambiguous than English? It might just prove to be the case for Rogers Communications in Canada, who had a dispute with Bell Aliant over the conditions for canceling a contract. It got a bit of attention before, as the placement of a comma in the English version of the contract seemed to allow Bell Aliant to cancel at any time, contrary to what Rogers said was the intent of the contract. The Canadian regulator ruled in favor of Bell Aliant, but Rogers will appeal, saying the French version more clearly states that intent.
